Coin Details:
- Circa 300 BC
- Minted in Istros, Thrace (modern day Romania)
- Obverse: Two male heads, one inverted
- Reverse: Sea eagle clutching a dolphin
Fun Facts: It is believed that the two heads on the front represent either the rising and setting sun or Kastor and Polydeukes (Pollux), the mythical Dioskuri and Gemini Twins.
Historians believe that the eagle, found on the back, is meant to represent Zeus, King of the gods, and the dolphin represents the Black Sea, where the colony of Istros was located.
