Date: ca 300 B.C.
Mint: Istros, Thrace (modern day Romania)
Metal: Silver
Obverse: Two male heads, one inverted
Reverse: Sea eagle clutching a dolphin

It is believed that the two heads on the front represent either the rising and setting sun or Kastor and Polydeukes (Pollux), the mythical Dioskuri and Gemini Twins. Historians believe that the eagle, found on the back, is meant to represent Zeus, King of the gods, and the dolphin represents the Black Sea, where the colony of Istros was located.
